MARINETTE -- U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus visited Marinette Marine Friday.

Mabus showed up to the shipyard to honor Marinette Marine for building Navy combat ships.

The ship building company is contracted to build ten ships, and they were just given the funding to build their second one.

"The great part of the job is coming here, seeing the people that actually build the ship, and seeing the ship," said Mabus.  "I was here a year and a half ago, and to see the first ship at sea now and operating and being deployed and to see things it can do is a pretty astounding thing."

Mabus also announced the names of the two ships to be built at Marinette Marine, the USS Detroit and the USS Milwaukee.
