MARQUETTE -- The United States Olympic Education Center has welcomed two Japanese wrestlers who left their country in the wake of Japan's recent earthquake.

Fumiya Itakura and Kuzuki Suzuki arrived in Michigan just two days after the massive earthquake in Japan.

The wrestlers are college students who came to Marquette to train against wrestlers from another country.

They were both in Tokyo when the earthquake hit, and although they are enjoying their time in the U.P., they are worried about the troubles their family and friends are facing in their home country.

"Because he was in Tokyo, everything in Tokyo was pretty much back up to speed by two days and so he left, and later on when he was here, he learned of the disaster, how big the disaster was, so it hasn't really hit him yet," said Itakura, translated by Sayako Iwanaga, interpreter.

Itakura and Suzuki will return to Japan on March 27.
