MANISTIQUE -- Public Safety officials are warning Manistique residents to pay extra attention to their cars and valuables after a string of break-ins that happened on Tuesday.

Ten vehicles in the city of Manistique have been broken into.  The thefts happened in residential neighborhoods.  Items like satellite radios, CDs, and money were taken.

Officials believe that the break-ins may be related.

Residents should take their keys out of their vehicles and report suspicious activity.

“At your residence, if there is a lighted area with motion lights, keep your car parked in that area,” explains Public Safety Officer, Kevin Smith.  “It'll alert you if anybody's in the area.  Keep your doors locked.”

Police also said that the break-ins have happened in the past.
