MARQUETTE -- Whether it's looking for an internship for the summer or a job that's more permanent, this is the time of year when many college students start thinking about their next step.
On Wednesday afternoon, Northern Michigan University hosted its 21st annual Upper Great Lakes Collegiate Job Fair. More than 40 representatives from area organizations were available to talk to students from colleges and universities across the U.P.
Organizers say this year, a lot of employers have come back after taking a few years off because of the job market.
"Even though nowadays a lot of students will find jobs online and there's a lot of online resume programs and things like that, but really today's job markets, you still get jobs face-to-face, and this is an opportunity for students to face-to-face with employers," said Director of Career Services Jim Gadzinski.
The job fair usually draws a couple hundred students.
This is one of several job fairs NMU hosts every year.
