He'll serve a minimum of ten years in prison.
MANISTIQUE -- Sixty-four year old Peter Markham was sentenced to a minimum of 10 years in prison to a maximum of 20 years Wednesday on extortion and terrorism charges. He was given credit for one year already served in the Schoolcraft County Jail.
He was found guilty of the charges on February 17. The charges arose from a dispute between Markham and officials over a $48 water bill. Markham made threats of murder, arson and suicide.
In all, Markham was found guilty of nine counts. One through seven were for extortion, count eight was for a threat of terrorism, and count nine was for using a computer to commit a threat of terrorism.
Markham will be sent to the Michigan Department of Corrections.
