Curious Cargo in Marquette sells everything from vintage clothes to collectible coins
MARQUETTE -- This week's FOX UP Hidden Treasure has been called "a neat jewel for collectors" by one of our viewers.
After Curious Cargo in Marquette was brought to our attention, we had a hard time finding it. That's what makes it the perfect FOX UP Hidden Treasure.
Curious Cargo is in the middle of Third Street in downtown Marquette, and it's pretty easy to drive past it. The shop has no sign on the outside. But once you find it and you step inside, you'll find years of treasures to explore. The shop features everything from antique coins to vintage military gear, which come from all over.
But owner Lana Lemire says her shop's most unique finds are the clothing.
"I get a lot of people in for parties, or girls who just like to wear the '40s and '50s clothes. For the Victorian clothes, I get people from even the Keweenaw for the Fort where they do re-enactments," says Lana Lemire, the owner of Curious Cargo.
Lemire has clothes from every era dating back to the 1850s.
And as for her shop's namesake, Curious Cargo, she says it's because she never knows what will come in to her shop.
