MARQUETTE -- The Peter White Library in Marquette will hold a symposium to help those that design and construct universally accessible facilities.

Members of the Marquette Access Group met Tuesday to finalize plans for the symposium which will provide information, through several presentations, on universal access for architects, engineers and contractors.

The goal of the two day event is to bring the idea of accessibility to the public.

"Trying to create an environment and products that people use for people of all ages and all ability, and as the population ages, it becomes more and more important to think about things like this," said David Boyd of Marquette Access Group.

The two day event will take place on March 23 and 24, and the cost is $75, but there will be a free reception on March 23 at 6:30 p.m.

For more information, call the Peter White Public Library at (906) 226-4318.
