ONTONAGON -- An update on an animal abuse case in Ontonagon County.

On Wednesday, 63-year-old James Griffin appeared for a preliminary hearing in Ontonagon County District Court.  He is charged with cruelty to 10 or more animals.  The animals were removed from the home at the time of his arrest.

Griffin's case was bound over to circuit court.  The date for his arraignment there has not been set.

Also appearing in district court on the same charges was 30-year-old Crystal Benoist.  The case against her was dismissed by the court.
