HOUGHTON -- The Houghton County Memorial Airport has been awarded federal funding.
The funding was announced in a press release from Democratic U.S. Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan.
The facility has been granted $473,290 by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funds will be used to enhance access to the airport.
Senator Debbie Stabenow said, "With greater access to the Houghton County Memorial Airport, more people will have the opportunity to visit and explore the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan."
