MARQUETTE COUNTY -- The 28th Annual Pigs-n-Heat charity hockey game is approaching. It will be played on March 16 at 7 p.m. in Marquette's Lakeview Arena.
The event pits Marquette County fire departments and police/corrections officers in a fun and spirited hockey game benefitting a serious cause.
Proceeds from the game help support the Pigs-n-Heat fire relief fund which assists county residents who have been displaced due to a fire.
"Last year we raised $18,000. It was a great year. We had a great response' I think some of that was due to the Black River fire. People knew that we needed to replenish our funds, but we are hoping to make anywhere between $15,000 and $18,000 this year," said Fire Relief Fund President, Brian Olson.
Tickets are available now for only one dollar through Marquette County fire departments and police agencies as well as at the door.
