The UPCC was founded 25 years ago
MARQUETTE -- The Upper Peninsula Children's Coalition celebrated its 25th anniversary of its first meeting Thursday night with a banquet at the Upfront and Company.
The evening's guest of honor was Manfred Tatzmann who started the coalition when he saw a need to build a network that would benefit all children of the U.P.
The coalition currently has 40 members all over the U.P. whose focus is to promote programs and legislature that support children.
Tatzmann believes the coalition has not only helped children, but the agencies that belong to it.
"I think that 25 years of effort on behalf of children, I think, is proof of why we're still around, and the agencies can work together, and the UPCC can, in fact, help not only just organizations but also staff," says Tatzmann.
