Randy Hekman unofficially announced his candidacy

GRAND RAPIDS -- A campaign announcement from the first Republican to enter the Senate seat up for grabs, as Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow faces reelection.

Randy Hekman of Grand Rapids, former juvenile court judge and Michigan Family Forum founder, unofficially announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate Saturday night.

He will be making the official announcement on Monday in Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.
