MARQUETTE -- The U.P. Builder's Show opened its doors Friday and there's plenty to see, but one man is using U.P. resources to create unique U.P. products.
Dave Stimac is a resident of Alberta, Michigan and carves various home items out of wood under the name Nature's Way Woodworking. He uses birdseye maple, which is a difficult wood to work with because of its significance to the Upper Peninsula.
Stimac makes rocking chairs and tables, but he likes to keep things a little different than what people might normally find.
"I like to get into artsy stuff, different things, not the norm, you know, more of a...wild stuff," said Stimac. "I get into wild things. People like it, and I enjoy doing it."
You can see more of Nature's Way Woodworking, along with plenty of home improvement ideas at the U.P. Builders Show Friday until 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
