DELTA COUNTY -- On Tuesday, a rail car struck the bottom of the viaduct on County Road 426, causing traffic to close on that stretch of road between 18th Road and US-2/US-41.

Engineers and crew were on site at 8 a.m. on Wednesday to check the scene.

Although there is still a detour for that stretch of County Road 426, crews are hoping to have repairs completed by Thursday morning, according to the Delta County Clerks office.
