LANSING -- The "Pure Michigan" tourism campaign, which just a few months ago seemed to be in jeopardy, got another boost Thursday.
The Michigan Senate voted 35-1 to add $10 million to the campaign that advertises the state's golf courses, beaches, and other attractions to the rest of the nation.
The campaign has been well received and is believed to have brought in millions of tourist dollars.
The Michigan House has already passed the bill which allows for the transfer of the money to the "Pure Michigan" campaign from the state's 21st Century Jobs Fund.
Governor Snyder is expected to sign the bill.
Officials with the campaign say the latest increase will boost overall funding for the campaign to $25 million.
