Plea deal made in prison escape case

BARAGA -- A Baraga County man who escaped from the Baraga County Jail in December will be heading to prison.  He will not know for how long until March.

Brandon John Cote was originally charged with escaping from prison, second offense.

In a plea deal with the Baraga County Prosecutor's Office, the 28 year old plead guilty to attempted escape from prison and a second notice of being a habitual offender.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 8.  He could receive up to 45 months of prison time.
