DEARBORN (AP) -- Gasoline prices are up 5.4 cents, making the Michigan statewide average $3.18 for a gallon of self-serve regular.

AAA Michigan reports that this is 57.9 cents a gallon higher than last year at this time.

Of the regions chosen for the weekly survey, the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel is in the Saginaw/Bay City area, where it's $3.10 per gallon.

The highest average was being reported in Marquette area at $3.27.
