ISHPEMING -- McDonald's in Ishpeming was selling Big Macs for a good cause Monday, and they say the response was incredible.
A portion of every Big Mac sold went to a fund for Taylor Carlson, who is undergoing treatment for leukemia months after her father battled cancer.
The goal was to sell 500 sandwiches, and the shift manager says they sold well over that number.
The employees say the outpouring of support for Carlson was, at times, overwhelming.
"The community was very involved. There was a lot of people coming in and supporting the cause of Taylor and it was very emotional. Our first Big Mac, we cried. It was really very emotional," said Shift Manager, Jennifer Dentmond.
McDonald's will be donating $2,500 to the Carlson fund.
