MARQUETTE -- Skiers on Marquette Mountain may have gotten a bit of a surprise at the top of the hill this weekend.

Snowmobiles and groomers weren't the only traffic on the ski hill; Chevrolet placed three of their trucks at the top as part of a promotion.

The deal is anyone who comes into a Chevy dealer and test drives a vehicle gets a free lift ticket to Norway Mountain, Ski Brule, Pine Mountain, or Marquette Mountain.

They actually drove the trucks to the top of the mountain Thursday and back down again Monday morning.  Organizers say it created quite a buzz.

"It was great because it was right about closing time, so we didn't have any safety concerns," said Jim Grundstrom, President of Upper Michigan Chevrolet Dealers.  "We had the whole hill going crazy."

They say the connection with Chevrolet and skiing comes from Chevrolet and GM's sponsorship of the U.S. Ski Team.
