Fatal ORV accident

WELLS -- An Escanaba man is dead after a weekend ORV accident.

According to the Delta County Sheriff's Department, they were called out to the Wells area around 6 p.m. Saturday.

The driver was traveling in a parking lot when he lost control of the machine, and the ORV rolled on top of him.

The driver of the ORV, identified as 56-year-old Nicholas Kolich, was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital by Rampart Personnel, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Assisting at the scene were officers from Escanaba Public Safety.
