HOUGHTON -- Criminal charges will not be filed against a driver involved in an accident last year that resulted in the death of a Larium man. That's according to the Houghton City Police. The fatal accident happened on Bridge Street.
Gerald Hirkas, a 61-year-old member of a survey crew, was killed and a second man was hurt.
After a lengthy investigation, the Houghton City Police determined that this was not a criminal situation. However, a civil infraction will be brought against the driver.
They declined comment on what that infraction is.
