For more than 25 years, ice climbers from all the across the United States have flocked to Munising the first weekend in February
MUNISING -- This year's Ice Fest was back and bigger than ever with ideal climbing conditions.
Sunday afternoon, the ice curtains at Sand Point were filled with climbers of all ages.
Ice Fest isn't just for advanced climbers. Lessons are available for newcomers, and everyone can try out the latest equipment.
And organizers say it was a great weekend to climb.
"Perfect!" said Bill Thompson of Down Wind Sports. "We have a banner year for ice, lots and lots of ice to climb, and then you guys provide us with really warm temperatures this year so people are very happy."
Ice Fest also had a special guest this year: the Weather Channel's Jim Cantore was taping an episode for his new series, Cantore's Stories.
TV6's Meagan Quigley will have more on his visit on Wednesday's News Tonight.
