MARQUETTE -- The NMU Athletic Department will be holding a bone marrow registry drive on Friday in honor of its athletic director.

AD Ken Godfrey is battling leukemia and has survived, thanks to a donor.

"When you go through something like this with a staff member being ill," says Brian Gaudreau of NMU Recreational Sports, "the staff looks for a way to contribute back and be a part of what's going on and trying to help, and this is the perfect way to do it."

The registry drive will be held during the Lake Superior State Hockey Ssries.  The first event will be Friday, from 5-8:30 p.m. in the Vandament Arena.
