ROCKLAND TOWNSHIP -- A Wisconsin snowmobiler is recovering after a weekend crash in Rockland Township.

According to the Ontonagon County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened about three miles west of US-45, at noon on Saturday, January 29.

Steve Kemp, of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, was driving his snowmobile on the trail along the power line, when his sled became stuck.  As he tried to free it, the machine rolled over, and Kemp fell onto the track.

With the throttle stuck, the snowmobile then hit the man in the head.  He was wearing a helmet, preventing more serious injury.

Kemp was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon by Sonco North Ambulance for treatment.

His current condition has not been released by authorities.
