There are 22 offered languages to choose from
ESCANABA -- Many people are interested in learning a foreign language but find the books or classes cost too much or are too difficult to understand.
Escanaba's Public Library has a solution for those people.
It's called Mango Languages, and it's an online, interactive system that costs nothing and only takes a library card to access.
Adults and children can choose from 22 foreign languages and can use it anywhere as long as there's an Internet connection.
Library director, Carolyn Stacey, has used it and says she's been practicing her Russian.
"It is engaging," says Stacey. "It's really interactive; it's not your basic instructional program. There's nothing dry and dull about it. It's very colorful, it's very visual, very graphical. The creators of this program really understood how to make it fun."
The program is available in basic and advanced versions.
Participants say you can pick up foreign phrases after just a few sessions.
