Two people were killed in the December explosion
WAYNE -- A Wayne furniture store and some of its neighbors want to get back to business as usual one month after a gas main explosion that killed two people.
After recovering data from computers buried in the explosion, the William C. Franks furniture store that was destroyed has moved its operations to a nearby warehouse while looking for a temporary showroom. Two store employees died in the Dec. 29 blast.
Franks Vice President Stephanie Christesen tells the Detroit Free Press the business wants to stay in Wayne where her father, Paul Franks, was raised. He's recovering from burns at the University of Michigan hospital.
Other businesses have relocated while an investigation continues. A Michigan Public Service Commission spokeswoman says it likely will take months to finish.
