ISHPEMING -- Main Street in Ishpeming held its 13th Annual "Torch Light Trek" in celebration of the Noquemanon Ski Marathon.
The event was held in the downtown area for children ages three to eight. They skied up and down three groomed blocks using the light of torches set up on the track.
After skiing, everyone headed to Wilderness Sports for hot dogs, hot chocolate, and free t-shirts.
"The Torchlight Trek is one of those that there might not be a huge economic value to it, yet it shows that there's some life in the downtown. It brings people down and it gets people on the streets and remembering that, you know, that the downtown exists and it's a fun place to be," said Trek organizer, Bob Hendrickson.
The Torch Light Trek is put on by the Ishpeming Business Association and the U.P. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame.
