ESCANABA -- An Escanaba singer-songwriter duo may not have made it on America's Got Talent, but they're still chasing their dream of a recording contract.
Gabriella Sheldon and Trina Nance make up the country acoustic band, Southbound, and they've got a new CD out, called On Our Way. The CD features ten original songs in which the women used only their voices and guitars.
They said they prefer the acoustic style because it gives them a chance to focus on their harmonies and staying true to the music.
"The songs that we write aren't necessarily, like about a relationship that we had, but it's sometimes about things you observe in other people," said Sheldon. "And sometimes there's things that you just want to get out and say, so we're able to say those in a song."
Southbound has several upcoming touring events around the country, and their first stop is in Florida early in February.
