Exhaust fan started fire
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP -- The two residents that died in an Ishpeming Township fire have been identified as 82-year-old Lois E. Roberts and her son Daniel L. Roberts, 46.
The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal found the malfunctioning exhaust fan in the bathroom as the probable cause after an investigation of the home. The fire was primarily contained to that room.
The investigation lead officials to believe the fire started in the early morning on Saturday. Smoke inhalation has been deemed the most likely cause of death for the two victims by the Marquette County Medical Examiners Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
