The Michigan Tech Eco-Car Team hosted their very first annual Bundle Up 5K Fun Run or Walk Saturday morning
HOUGHTON -- About 70 people did bundle up and took to the streets Saturday morning.
Eco-Car members working the event shared information about a three-year engineering competition they're currently completing.
For their efforts, they hope to gather ideas about the features of a hybrid car that would be most important to people in the U.P.
"Part of what we do in Eco-Car is raise awareness about hybrid technology, greener technologies, and we actually build a hybrid vehicle to meet the needs of the consumer, so getting in touch with that consumer and finding out what they want is also part of the deal," says event coordinator Jamie Kleinendorst.
The Eco-Car Challenge allows engineering students the opportunity to design and build advanced vehicles that minimize the impact to the environment, and portray different paths to a sustainable, transportation future.
