It's been postponed because of a clerical error

ALLEN PARK, MICH. (AP) -- The murder trial of a Detroit-area man charged in the drowning of his two toddlers has been postponed because of a clerical error.

A Wayne County judge postponed 27-year-old Steven Lyn Nicholson's trial after a motion on behalf of the Allen Park man was not filed by the time of Nicholson's final conference on Friday.

The Macomb Daily of Mount Clemens reports that the motion arguing for dismissal of the charges that Nicholson intentionally killed his two children will be heard Jan. 28.  His trial has been pushed back to April 11.

Nicholson faces six charges, including two counts of premeditated murder, in the Oct. 9 deaths of 15-month-old Ella Stafford and 13-month-old and Johnathon Sanderlin.  The children, who had different mothers, lived with Nicholson.
