ISHPEMING -- UPDATE:  9:38 p.m.

The home was being rented by Marsha Stagliano.  Her 20-year-old son was taken to Bell Hospital where he was treated and released for smoke inhalation.

The Staglianos are being put up by the Red Cross and Pigs N Heat at the Country Village in Ishpeming.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the Ishpeming Fire Chief says it is not suspicious.

Investigators are trying to determine what started a fire that destroyed an Ishpeming home on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters from the Ishpeming and Negaunee Fire Departments responded to the call at 12:30 p.m., at 719 Spring Street in Ishpeming.

They tried to contain the fire, but it broke through the roof and spread quickly to other parts of the house.  It's believed the fire started on the first floor.
