MARQUETTE -- Filmmaker and journalist Frida Waara recently returned from Antarctica, and Tuesday night, she shared her experiences at the South Pole with some Marquette residents.
Waara spoke about her two-month stay in Antarctica using photos and video she took.
The presentation was part of the Northern Center for Life Long Learning, which Waara felt was the perfect audience to relate her time on the frozen continent.
"Stories about being in a place where an entire continent, which no country owns--it doesn't have a language, it doesn't have a government, it just has people there working on behalf of science, from all over the world, so I think it's going to be a good connection," said Waara.
Waara and John Major went to Antarctica for their film "Condition One" which examines the human spirit under extreme conditions.
