ISHPEMING -- The term "full house" took on a whole new meaning for poker players in Ishpeming Sunday as they participated in a Texas Hold'em Tournament to support Teaching Family Homes.

Teaching Family Homes provides a safe learning environment for kids.

The fund-raiser will help provide different resources and equipment for the children that are part of the program.

"The children that we serve in the Upper Peninsula come to us because of abuse and neglect situations from their family environment, and they have very special needs in learning how to get rid of the negativity that they've been brought up with; and learning through the teaching family model to learn how to get along with people throughout their lives," said Cathy Enright, Administrator at Teaching Family Homes.

There will be two more Texas Hold'em Poker Tournaments benefitting Teaching Family Homes on March 13 and April 24.

All proceeds from the event went to the organization.
