NEGAUNEE -- The Negaunee Police Department is seeking more information involving a suspicious incident involving an adult male and an 11-year-old girl around 7:15 a.m. Friday.
Authorities are saying that the adult male attempted to make contact with the 11-year-old girl while she was walking to school, motioning for her to approach his car. She then ran home and alerted her parents, who contacted the police.
The whereabouts of the driver are unknown at this time, but the driver is described as a male in his 50s with pale, wrinkly skin. He is possibly driving a dark gray or black station wagon.
He was possibly wearing a dark flannel shirt and a gray baseball cap, according to the Negaunee Police.
Officer Dean Grasso of the Negaunee Police Department urges parents to teach their kids to be aware of these types of situations.
"Make sure kids understand what is a bad situation, when to run, and when to get out," said Grasso. "They should know to always report suspicious events to their parents."
