HOUGHTON COUNTY -- The man who was accused of arson and murder, Ronald Kemppainen, is no longer an inmate at the Houghton County Jail.  But, he isn't a free man either.

Authorities say the 48-year-old Kemppainen was transported to the Marquette Branch Prison Tuesday where he'll serve time for violating his parole.

It's unclear how long Kemppainen will stay behind bars for the violation.

He was seen drinking from a bottle of alcohol, both before and after the deadly apartment fire in Hancock.

Last week the Houghton County Prosecutor dropped all charges against Kemppainen related to the fire after juries in two trials were unable to reach a verdict.
