ISHPEMING -- The Suicide Bowl Ski Jump Community Dinner is this weekend, and one woman at the Elks is already preparing the meal.
Elks' kitchen manager Jill Madsen prepared the sauce for the spaghetti dinner on Thursday.
The community meal will feed about 200 people, including all of the ski jumpers, Chamber of Commerce members and even some past jumpers.
The public is welcome with a five dollar donation at the door that goes back to the Ishpeming Ski Club.
Madsen says preparing 25 pounds of meat and 75 pounds of sauce is a difficult task. Luckily she had a little help.
"I actually had a member here that gave me a recipe. She used to cook for all the priests that used to come up here, so she had a recipe for a hundred, so thank God for her because I wasn't sure where to start from," said Madsen.
The community dinner will be this Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Elks Lodge and will feature spaghetti, salad. and garlic bread.
