Inauguration ceremony
LANSING -- Republican Rick Snyder, a businessman, gets sworn as the state's 48th governor on Saturday.
A spokesman says Snyder will emphasize that all of us can play a part in reinvigorating Michigan. The state has been struggling with the nation's highest unemployment rate and a budget deficit of almost two billion dollars.
Snyder succeeds Jennifer Granholm who served for eight years.
Crews in Lansing have been preparing for the inauguration at the state Capitol Saturday. The ceremony will start at 11:30 a.m., and Snyder will be sworn in at noon.
The entire event will be held outdoors. The public is invited.
The event will be televised on FOX UP and here, online.
