Despite clear skies and dry roads in Michigan, some of the state's travelers have found themselves stranded because of severe weather to the East
(AP) -- ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - Flight cancellations and delays left a number of travelers stuck Sunday at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Airport spokesman Mike Conway tells The Detroit News that problems at Atlanta's airport are having a ripple effect at Detroit. Both are major Delta Air Lines hubs.
Delta spokesman Kent Landers tells The Detroit Free Press the airline canceled about 850 flights system-wide in anticipation of the storm.
Travelers also faced trouble at Gerald Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids. The Grand Rapids Press says flights to Atlanta, Baltimore, and Newark, N.J., were canceled.
