MARQUETTE -- A group of children traveled the downtown area of Marquette to sing and spread some holiday joy Thursday night.

Members of the Marquette Arts and Culture Center Youth Theater, in conjunction with the downtown association, traveled around the 100 and 200 block of Washington Street.

The children ranged from 6 to 18 years of age and are involved in the production of Alice in Wonderland.

Director Nikki Nason says it's fun for the kids and the community.

"It's an annual thing that our youth theater does and a great opportunity for them to go out for an unrehearsed event, and it's always been a joy to see we can quiet an entire bar down sometimes, or restaurant.  They come in and sing and the entire place quiets down and listens to their beautiful voices," said Nason.

The carolers visited businesses like the Landmark Inn, Hot Plates, and Donckers Candy Store.
