HANCOCK -- Hancock students got in the holiday spirit performing a classic Christmas play.

After a month of rehearsing, sixth graders took the stage Thursday and put on an abbreviated version of A Christmas Carol for the elementary school.

From set design to costumes, the students made sure the show went off without a hitch.

As an added treat, Scrooge handed out candy canes to some of the audience.

"I was a pretty fun play to do," said John Pietrzyk, who played Scrooge.  "It was pretty hard rehearsing and remembering lines, but it was fun."

Hancock has so many talented students that an entirely different cast performed the show again Thursday afternoon.
