HANCOCK -- Volunteers for Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly give the gift of company throughout the year, but at Christmastime, it's not the only present they bring.

Since the beginning of December, they've been delivering dozens of presents to elderly residents, making sure everyone gets a gift this Christmas.

Most of the items are donated to Little Brothers by local churches.

Recipients and volunteers would probably agree that the visit is just as special as the delivery.

"They get really excited," said Bennet Schwin of Little Brothers.  "Sometimes they're like children, they can't wait to open the present.  It's really nice."

Little Brothers is also preparing for this weekend's holiday dinners.

They still need volunteers to deliver hot meals and ask anyone interested to call their office at (906) 482-6944.
