HARVEY -- An electrical spark is to blame for an afternoon house fire in Harvey on Tuesday.
At 2:30 p.m., Chocolay Township Fire was called to a home at 130 Kellogg Street. There were no injuries and just minimal damage to the outside of the home.
Apparently there was a spark from the electrical wire entering the home, and the outside of the structure caught fire.
The owners were quick to react and used a fire extinguisher to control the blaze until crews arrived.
The Marquette Board of Light and Power quickly cut off electricity to the home to investigate.
