GWINN -- Many communities used this weekend to celebrate the holiday season together.
The City of Gwinn hosted its annual tree lighting ceremony. Santa Claus did the honors, then stuck around to hear what many kids wanted for Christmas.
The Forsyth Singers sang Christmas carols to get everyone into the holiday spirit.
"It is our Christmas tree lighting and a kickoff of our Christmas season. It's fun and we have fun every year, and it's family-oriented, and it's very nice, and we have a bonfire outside so you stay warm," said organizer Avis Ketola and Forsyth Township Treasurer, Jane Nordeen.
The Girl Scouts were also there to serve refreshments.
