Twenty-eight-year-old Joshua Allan Matson was facing a felony, assault with a dangerous weapon.

Friday in Houghton County Circuit Court, the prosecutor said the case had been resolved out of court.

Matson allegedly tried to hit another man with a tree branch.

The prosecutor says both men knew each other.

Matson could have gotten four years in prison.
