MARQUETTE -- The Marquette Senior High School hosted its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot Thursday morning to benefit their orchestra and Business Professionals of America club.

The trot consisted of a 5-k and 10-k course along the Marquette bike path, beginning at the high school.

Roads slick with slush did not stop runners from showing up.  Around 200 people registered for the race.

"It's surprising, every year we have right around the same number of participants regardless of the weather.  There's quite a crew this year and it doesn't look like it's going to be the greatest weather today either," said race co-organizer, Kim Carr.

The race's $10 entry fee benefits the Marquette Senior High School Orchestra.

Running shirts were also on sale for $15 to benefit the high school's Business Professionals of America.

Winners of the races were awarded trophies.
