HARVEY -- Second grade students at Cherry Creek Elementary in Harvey are showing soldiers overseas that they appreciate them by writing letters, decorating ornaments, and making cards.

The students wanted to send a bit of U.P. Christmas to the soldiers that aren't able to be home for the holidays.

The crafts will be sent along with a tree from Christmas Tree Express in Newberry to soldiers with the 225th CSSB regiment out of Detroit, of which a Marquette man is part of.
