MARQUETTE -- An Ohio soldier with ties to the Upper Peninsula has been killed in Afghanistan.

According to a family member in Marquette, U.S. Army Specialist Jesse Snow was born at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base when it was still in operation.

Snow still has several relatives living in the area.

The military has not released details on how Snow was killed.  His body will be returned to family in Ohio sometime in the next few days.
