MARQUETTE -- The Marquette School Board met with the Marquette Township Board Tuesday morning for a work session at the Vandenboom Child Development Center.

There were no decisions made at this meeting.  It was an opportunity for the Marquette Township Board to see how the building is being used.

"Parts of it are being used by area non-profits--the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development and also the American Red Cross," said Marquette Area Schools Superintendent Jon Hartwig.  "Our partnership is, of course, Marquette public investment in preschool which has a positive impact on the school system."

After the tours, both school boards engaged in a discussion about the building and the programs it offers as well as the future of those programs.
