MUNISING -- The winner of the seventh season of the Biggest Loser will be making an appearance in Alger County.
Helen Phillips is from Sterling Heights and won the seventh season of the popular weight loss show. She'll be in Munising on November 13 at the Mather Auditorium on behalf of the Alger County Parks and Recreation Departments to promote the benefits of health and fitness.
The event also serves as a fund-raiser for the department to pay for operating costs.
"With Helen Phillips coming to Munising, this is just awesome. She fits in totally to the mission statement of Alger Parks and Rec, which is all about health and nutrition and fitness and getting people healthy and active," said Deb Fulcher of Alger County Parks and Recreation.
